The Canadian Diabetes Association has publicly supported the first online consumer e-health service in Canada, offered by TELUS Health Solutions. The TELUS Health Space is a new online consumer health service for Candians and their healthcare providers. Health information is an essential part of successful diabetes management .
The service is powered by Microsoft HealthVault and allows patients to manage personal and health information using a secure online platform. Applications include health records, tools for diabetes management and resources such as fitness and wellness solutions.
Interim president and CEO of the CDA, Anna Kennedy, reportedly commented: “With more than three million Canadians living with diabetes and a further six million Canadians living with prediabetes, TELUS health space will empower individuals to take control of their personal and family health. Through multiple online and mobile tools and applications, individuals will be able to make informed decisions to improve health outcomes. We are pleased to endorse this initiative and see tremendous value in Canadians being able to access, store, connect, analyze and share health information to achieve goals and maintain good health.”
